Wow, so interesting! Trying to find info on another home in "The Heights" - a.k.a. The Wise Mansion? Can find zero on it on internet. Husband & I drove up there today. It is empty, & so sad. Recently stayed in "Wise Woodin Mountain Ranch Home". Would love to know the history. Was that the servants quarters??? And about the brick building below the water tower, what was that?
The current mansion was actually a guest mansion NOT the servants quarters. those are the 3 homes just down the road of which 2 of them are original (By the barn) the basement of the mansion used to be the lab for the creation of wise chips. there is also an original greenhouse that was used near the barn as well. The ranch house was built after the fire burnt down the original house in 49. The water tower supplied all of the homes an you can still find pieces of the piping in the woods. there is also a pump house located down behind the tower on the fire road. The entire mountain and road are all private so gain permission before exploring.
