1949 was a banner year for the area. I-80 opened the nine mile stretch from Bloomsburg to Briar Creek. The roadway has been toll free since its inception and we hope it stays toll free.

1949 - Eagles Building Opens In Berwick
This newspaper photo from 1949 shows the Berwick Eagles' new lodge home. This fine building still stands overlooking the Susquehanna River next to the bridge.
